Branch with Flowers
I decided to go a little more daring with my work. All of my work has been flat. I wanted to try something with dimension to it. I started off with watching my husband reupholster an antique chair. He was using burlap in the padding. I thought about it and asked him for for some scraps. I knew I would find a place for it in my next piece. I strategically placed them on the canvas, and painted it gold. My intent was to create a very Asian inspired work. But I still wanted to try something even more different. I used Golden Extra Heavy Matte Gel to create the flowers and enhance the branches. I then used acrylic paint and paint marker to complete the painting. I signed my name in the same color red inspired by the red chops in old Asian paintings.
