Center-Peace
I created this piece of art when I was recently struggling with everything going on in my life and in the world. Painting flowers is something that I find very calming. I found that painting this was very theraputic. It brings me peace.

In the middle of winter, I chose the brightest of colors, the perfect placement of the flowers. I studied still-life paintings online. I did not draw from a bouquet, but rather photos of various flowers. I even went to the supermarket and photographed flowers in bouquets there, just to get close ups. And, while I was at the market, I bought a peach, a lemon, an apple, and some other fruit that did not end up making the cut.

In the end I did the background. While this entire painting is acrylic paint-marker, I used my finger to smear the paint into circles, to make almost a smoke looking appearance.

And lastly, I touched up the larkspur in the background of the arrangement to make them pop.
