Hand Painted Air Dry Clay Christmas Ornaments
The acorns are hand sculpted and the disks are made from rolling and cutting Das Air Dry Clay with a drinking glass. All the ornaments are painted with acrylic paint with the acorns having a layer of glitter tempera paint over gold acrylic paint. On the back of the disks, and not shown, I chose to cover the "unpretty" backs of the disks with a circle of paisley upholstery fabric to finish them off. Air Dry Clay always has an unpretty side of which it sits on when it dries. All ornaments have a layer or plant based varnish to seal the paint. These will be for sale at my booth at Christmas by the River in Coxsackie, NY this year. And, just posting them in an Air Dry Clay Facebook group got me a custom order of 15 ornaments. The purchaser creates with Air Dry Clay herself, but likes the detail I put into painting the wreaths and floral designs on the disk ornaments.
