Honey Hollow Brewing Co. 2021 Revolutionary Ale Label
I was hired as a freelancer to design a label for Honey Hollow Brewing Company in Earlton, NY for their Revolutionary Ale they will be making this summer. They make this beer every year, but this will be the first time they bottle it in 22 oz Bombers. The recipe is supposedly a recipe of Thomas Jefferson. My first thought was that this had to look really old and authentic. I found some etching brushes online and purchased them for Illustrator. By the time I finished drawing him, I had hundreds of sub-layers. It took me several days to draw him. Since the historical painting I was using for reference did not show his hand, a tankard, or a sleeve, I improvised. We bought an antique tankard at a junk shop, and my husband held it up to his mouth. I took many photos to reference. I also looked up Revolutionary War period clothing.
