Skeletons in the Garden Denim Jacket
I love cheap clothing. I am shamelessly thrifting or looking for bargains. I am also not ashamed to go down the non-food isle at Aldi Market and buy socks or something. I was shopping last week with my sister and saw a $16 denim jacket. It did not feel shoddy. I bought it with one thing in mind.... I took out my Sharpies and Fabric Markers, and before I finished, I actually had to get more fabric markers because I had used so much ink, and the surface really was rough on the marker tips. This is my final work on it.

I know I have a lot of skulls in my work in my portfolio. I am not a Dead Head, but I do love their work. I actually collect found animal bones. I have a fascination with the mechanics of a skeleton. But, Halloween and skeletons are something I enjoy throughout the year. I am not selling this jacket. It is personal work that I am saving for an upcoming event to wear it to. I do have to heat set the color with an iron, so the color doesn't fade or disappear during washing. This will be saved for special occasions. The only editing I did on these photos aside from the lighting, was getting all of the cat and dog hair that magically lands on everything. I had already gone over with a lint brush. If any hair is left over, consider it my pet's contribution to my art, and a litte "extra," to make it really unique. They don't do much around here, so every bit counts.
